Defining safety: collage exercise

Postby JigsawAnalogy on Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:10 am

This is a simple exercise that I've used to think about safety; for me, it worked best to have different parts do the exercise independently or in small groups, because we didn't all have the same definition of safety.

Basically, what I/we did was to get a piece of paper, and some old magazines, scissors, and glue, some pencils and pens and crayons, and then made a collage or piece of artwork about what felt "safe" to us. We decided not to make ourselves do collages that would necessarily seem safe to other people, so parts were free to demonstrate how they felt about "safety" and what was necessary for them to feel ok.
Who says there is anything wrong with being crazy, anyhow?
